Hi everyone!

My name is Holly, I’m 17 and live in Derbyshire. I currently study media at college and cover Chesterfield FC for Derbyshire Media Company and Spire Radio. I’ve been groundhopping for as long as I can remember (literally).

Who do you support?

I’ve been following Chesterfield regularly for over 10 years now. My dad took me to my first Chesterfield game in 2007 when we lost 1-0 at home to Gillingham. It’s been a rollercoaster ever since!

How many grounds have you been to?

I’ve visited 129 grounds in total and 88/92. I’ve got Crystal Palace, Swansea, Reading and Watford left to tick off.

Best game you’ve been to?

I’m not sure about my best but I’ve got a favourite- Preston 3-3 Chesterfield. It was a Tuesday night in September 2016, 3-0 down at half time, Eoin Doyle got his second hat-trick in two games to level. There are no words I can use to describe the feeling when the ball hit the back of the net to equalise. Preston got their own back when they beat us in the play-offs at the end of the season.

First game you ever went to?

The first game I ever went to was actually for groundhopping purposes, my dad wanted to tick off Fratton Park so his mate drove down for Portsmouth vs Wigan in the third round of the FA Cup. Pompey won 2-1.

Best ground you’ve ever been to?

I think it has to be Camp Nou. It’s definitely showing it’s age and the facilities aren’t as good as they are at newer built stadiums but it has to be the best just because of the sheer size. Both times I’ve visited I’ve been taken aback.
